Our Mission
The primary mission for Glacier View Coffee (GVC), an Orestod Company, is to provide a place for the employees of sister company Marias Technology to have a place to get coffee and other treats. It was later decided to open Glacier View to the public, and even later to add the drive thru and things such as that.
The intent of GVC has never been to take over the coffee world. GVC is not the kind of place that is going to dazzle coffee experts. The purpose of GVC is to be functional. Provide coffee, other beverages and baked goods to employees of the Orestod companies working on the same block in downtown Covington, as well as the public which may wish to be customers of GVC. It was also important to the Haines family that GVC provide a place for friends to meet and share a conversation, a salesperson to meet with a customer, or maybe a mentor to meet with someone who needs some guidance.
With all of this in mind, we have contracted with Boston Stoker to provide beverages and Blackberry Bake Shop for baked goods. Both of these businesses are experts in their respective fields. It will be our employees serving these, but we wanted our offerings to be the kinds of things, at the level of quality, that people could depend on. But it is important for us to convey that GVC will not be the trendiest, the fanciest, or cheapest coffee shop around. But we will be here for the people that need us, when they need us.
